Ten-man Katsina United recorded their first point away from home in the NPFL season after they were forced to a 1-1 draw by hosts Niger Tornadoes.
‘The Changi Boys’ now have eight points from six matches.
Their next match will also be away to Lobi Stars on Sunday.
Skipper Nasiru Sani gave the visitors the lead after 26 minutes from the penalty spot after Usman Barau’s shot from inside the box was handled by a Tornadoes defender.
Katsina United were then reduced to 10 men after striker Chinedu Udechukwu was sent off for a second booking after 65 minutes.
The home team restored parity on 72 minutes also through a penalty taken by Ifeanyi Okoye.
Ex-Kogi United midfielder Ashadi Destiny was outstanding for Katsina United as he strung passes in the middle of the park to the admiration of the spectators before he was replaced late in the contest as his team tried to hold on to the draw.
Big striker Udechukwu and defender Nwachukwu Ikechukwu got their first start of the season for Katsina United.
Former Ranchers Bees defender Ikechukwu came in for the injured Ado Ali.
