‘The Changi Boys’ lost again by a slim margin 2 – 1 to Bendel Insurance in an NPFL matchday 19 decided at the University of Benin Sports Complex on Sunday

This result means that Katsina United have lost two straight away matches and have dropped to eight position on the league table with 24 points picked from 19 games.

While Insurance have moved out of relegation zone on the back of this slim victory. They now occupy 7th position on the league table with 25 points from 19 games.

There was a light shower before the commencement of the game in Benin.

Sunday game started with an early minutes penalty after the CR awarded a spot kick to Bendel Insurance following an infringement on Bendel Insurance striker in the box with just a minute on the clock

Insurance who deployed a long ball forward tactics came close on 17 minutes when lmade’s header from a lofty cross by Odinaku narrowly missed the target.

Ten minutes later, Adimorama Eze who was left unmarked in the box doubled the advantage of Bendel Insurance with a simple tap-in off another clever cross in from the right flank as Katsina United defenders ball watch.

The referee sounded his whistle to signal the end of the half as the hosts went to the break with a comfortable two goals lead.

Katsina United looked more determined in the early minutes of the second half as the played more purposeful football.

Katsina United poked and knocked but could not find the equalizer as the hosts ran away with a 2 – 1 victory.

‘The Changi Boys’ next game will be against Sunshine Stars of Akure at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
