‘The Changi Boys’ continued their abysmal run of form on the road following yet another 0 – 1 defeat to Wikki Tourists in one of the NPFL match day 16 decided at the Pantami Stadium Gombe


‘The Tourists’ striker Manu Garba’s header on 67 minutes proved to be the difference in an encounter that was full of talking points.


Katsina United have now dropped to 7th on the league table following this slim defeat with 21 points picked from 16 games.


Sunday game started on a bright note as both teams exhibited good football artistry to the delight of the spectators in the stadium


The game burst to live on 16 minutes after Tasiu Lawal dribbled past  Franklin Anthony who eventually hacked him just on the edge of the box and the resultant low effort was blocked by a Wikki defender, a follow up goal bound strike by Frank Kappe was blocked by Abdullahi Musa


Katsina United goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa pull off a clever strike that would have been the opener on 21 minutes from a long range effort by Abba Umar


Wikki Tourists burst forward once again on 27 minutes when Abba Umar delivered a dangerous cross into Katsina United box which bubbles around before it was somehow cleared to safety by Eric Gwammy for Katsina United bench to breath a sigh of relief.


Eric Gwammy capitalized on a defensive blunder by Anthony on 35 minutes to put Katsina United on a counter-attacking move but his clever pass aimed at unmarked Martins Usule was miraculously intercepted by Abdullahi Musa.


Despite creating some scoring opporrunities, there was no goal to separate both teams as the Centre referee ended the first half


The second half was delayed for about 10 minutes as the referees were held hostage in their dressing room.


Wikki Tourists made their first substitution at half time as Nasiru Jubrin came on for Ahmed Jimoh to fortify his attack.


Ezenwa was forced to another world class save on 58 minutes following  a clever close range header from Manu Garba


Manu Garba would then break the deadlock on 67 minutes to put Wikki Tourists in front with a powerful header off a dangerous cross from the right flank.


Coach Biffo introduced some fresh legs to fortify his attack as they continue to search for the equalizer.


Wikki Tourists goalkeeper Abubakar Adamu who was earlier booked for time wasting was giving a marching order after being booked the second time for the same offense.


Musa Abdullahi would then finish the game in goal for the hosts as they have already exhausted their substitution.


However, there was no enough time for Katsina team to capitalize on the numerical advantage as the game ended 1 – 0 in favor of Wikki Tourists


Katsina United next game will be against Remo Stars at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina
