Katsina United seek improvements at Sunshine Stars after dropped points at home

Katsina United will on Wednesday battle home team Sunshine Stars at the Akure Township Stadium in one of the match day 2 fixtures of the NPFL

‘The Chanji Boys ‘ who were held to a 2 – 2 draw at home in the opening match of the season last Saturday by Kano Pillars, will be looking forward to an improved performance when they slug it out against ‘The ‘Owena Gunners’.

Sunshine Stars have been lifted with the vital away point picked in Owerri in the match day 1 last Sunday against a newly promoted Heartland.

Katsina United now sit on 9th position on the NPFL table with one point after that disappointing home draw against their local rival Kano Pillars.

Sunshine Stars, on the other hand are on 10th, also with a point.

Katsina United have been dealt a big blow as their midfield maestro Ashadi Destiny, who did not travel with the team owing to a minor knock he picked up in the match against Kano Pillars.

Ashadi told www.fckatsinaunited.com that the doctor said his injury is a minor one and will be ready for the home game against Enyimba.

“Yes, I did not travel with the team because of a knock I picked up on my back. I have started receiving treatment immediately and the doctor has confirmed to me that I will be available to feature in our next home game,” he revealed.

The former Kogi United star added that the game in Akure will be tough, but he believes so much in his team mates to deliver a result.

“It’s going to be a tough game against Sunshine Stars, who just came back from Owerri with one point,” he said

“They will be full of confidence and will want to do everything to make sure that they win, but I believe so much in my teammates, they will fight until the end and make sure that they didn’t come back home empty-handed.”

Timothy Danladi is another regular for Katsina United who will miss this cracker as he is on national assignment in Morocco.

Dare Ojo will be missing in the line-up of the Akure club as he is also in Morocco.
