Katsina United will hope to maintain their unbeaten run of form at home when they host Niger Tornadoes today in an NPFL Match Day 26 at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

Katsina United failed to salvage their poor away run of form when they lost 2 – 0 to Akwa United in their last league match at the ‘Nest of Champions’ in Uyo to extend their away poor record to 11 games without a point and seven games without a goal.

‘The Chanji Boys’ will now be looking forward to extend their excellent home run of form and pick the maximum points at the expense of the visiting ‘Ikon Allah Boys’.

Niger Tornadoes, who were held to a goalless draw and failed to secure maximum points in their last match at their adopted home ground in Lokoja by Rangers, will be going into this game like wounded lions.

The reverse of this match was played far back in February, when Niger Tornadoes hosted Katsina United in the first round at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja and it ended 1-1.

Katsina United leading goal scorer Chinedu Udechukwu made his NPFL debut for ‘The ‘Chanji Boys’ and he was sent off in that game.

The return of Dami Paul, Suleman Musa ‘Ronaldo’ and Chinedu Udechukwu who have been out of action for weeks will boost Katsina United after they returned to full training after shaking off their various injuries.

Dami and Musa Suleman may likely make the matchday squad as both of them have fully recovered.

“The game is going to be tough, but we are going to pick the maximum points,” goalkeeper Dami declared.

“We won’t give any room for complacency. We’ll remain focused till the end of the game because the three points are very important to us.”

Katsina United home record has been excellent as they are yet to taste defeat at home since the beginning of the season. They have played 12, drawn 3 and won 9 matches.

While ‘The Ikon Allah Boys’ away run of form is nothing to write home about.

They have lost all their last five away games and picked just 4 out of possible 36 away points.
