Katsina United skipper Nasiru Sani will miss his first game of the season after he suffered a foot injury in training.
All-action leftback Nasiru has featured in all 12 matches involving ‘The Changi Boys’ in the NPFL.
He has also scored two goals.
“He suffered a foot injury in training and will be out for two weeks,” said the team’s physiotherapist.
His place in the starting XI is most likely to be filled by Eric Gwammy, who also plays as a left winger.
Striker Obinna Eleje, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, has also been left out of the matchday squad for him to rest ahead of the team’s forthcoming clash at home against champions Enugu Rangers.
Wingers Tasiu Lawal and Joshua Agboola remain on the treatment table.
Tasiu is nursing an ankle sprain, while Agboola has a mid-foot sprain.
