Ibrahim Ibrahim has said he hopes to celebrate his 23rd birthday today in fine style – score a hat-trick for Katsina United against Nasarawa United, who he featured for only last season.
The defensive midfielder may not be a proven scorer after he managed only a goal for Nasarawa last season.
“It will be a great start for me to score a hat-trick and give my team victory against Nasarawa, who are also close to my heart having played for them for the past five years,” he revealed his birthday wish.
“I have not been involved in the first two matches of the new season, but going by the training, I hope to be considered for selection for the match on Sunday.”
Incidentally, both Katsina and Nasarawa clashed in pre-season in Jos with ‘The Solid Miners’ running away 2-1 winners.
“We deserved at least a draw from that friendly, but we were tired coming straight from the NNL Super 4 in Gombe,”recalled the ex-Jigawa Golden Stars ace.
“Tasiu Lawal drew us level after they had taken the lead, before they went on the score a late winner.”
